I would go see your doc & get a check-up.
It's difficult diagnose your symptoms without proper testing.

Discharge can be misleading from time to time. An odor that has a smell, is usually an indication of infection. Yeast or candida albicans, does not have an odor. If it is mixed with another bacteria, which is possible, an odor may develop. Yeast also has a notorious itch. Although your odor is stated to be more present during your period, you seem to be describing bacterial vaginosis, and should be screened for such at your next appointment. Make sure not to use douche, because that will only worsen the infection.

As stated before, some discharge is normal. Women always have bacteria amd yeast in small amounts, trying to keep the area balanced. Lactobacillus is a common bacteria in the vaginal vault that is not harmful, but helpful.

Good luck, and get an exam.

Hi there....let me give you some advice...go to a planned parent hood or your local free clinic...don't be embarrassed...take a close girlfriend for support....get tested for STD's and ask them to check for BV. BV stands for Bacterial Vaginoisis....it is not a std but it can worsen with constant unprotected sex....you can't transmit it to your partner but you are increasing your risk of other STD's by not having it treated. My stepmother is a nurse and she is telling me over the phone what to say to you. The brownish discharge is normal when a young lady is on the last few days of her monthly cycle. however some STD's produce a brownish discharge so its better to get checked out. IF you have an aweful odor you need to go to the gynecologist immediately...a woman's vagina is only suppose to have a slight to non-existent smell....the best thing to do is get checked....its always better to know than not know...and since you are only seventeen....please use condoms at all times....just because your boyfriends has been with you for three years, doesn't mean he didn't give it to you .....he could have had something lying doirmant in him....meaning...he had it before you got together and its just now showing symptoms.....so get checked...good luck....

You need to see the doc and get this infection checked out. Any time you have a nasty odor with the discharge you need to get this checked. Since you are sexually active you should be getting yearly pap and pelvic exams now too. If you haven't had one already this year then schedule this when you go to see the doc about the vaginal infection. In the meantime you should not have sex till this is checked by the doc.

Is just an hormonal change. You should choose the days in where you make love. you know about natural contraconceptives? they can work, you must count the days of your period and follow the plan, and you should use protection too, maybe you have a yeast infecction caused by the lowered of the inmunity bcz the hormonal change. you must see how lond the problem persist, if it persist more than 3 months, go to a doctor or stop having relationships for a while too see if that is the cause, if not, go to a doctor anyway

It could be a yeast infection that some women get because of an imbalance of the flora in the vagina. This must be treated. Be checked for STD's also. Good luck and get better soon. Your discharge is not normal.

its definitely a HARMONAL imbalance. This happens due to sudden change in your lifestyle and normally when a "girl' turns to be a "woman" physically and more so mentally. Its normal for certain kind of people. However you should go see the gynocologists for some pills and you'll be fine.

Its ABSOLUTELY NORMAL.. i too freaked out when this happened to my girlfriend... but its alright.. the doc said there's No real problem and urgency..

however you should definitely go and see the gyno.

It sounds like an infection or STD.

See your Gyn for diagnosis and treatment. Don't wait or it could get worse.

Have your boyfriend checked by a doctor too if your doctor says it's an STD.
