You need to ask this question correctly.

If you are the client, and you want to connect to a VPN anywhere (and CANADA does not matter), then you need to know what kind of VPN connection they require (IPSEC or SSL via browser). If it is a standard IPSEC, then you can use a software client like Netgear prosafe, in which you can use a single computer address of anything (typical 10.10.10.10 for the client single computer connection) This is defined in the security policy for the VPN connection only, and not your operating systems IP stack.

. If you need to interface computers on your side of a VPN router with the network on the other VPN, then you need to set your local IP address range in your VPN router box for a subnet range that the other VPN does NOT use. You will need a VPN router for your network, like a Netgear FVS - the documentation in the router will guide you through the settings of subnet range, encryption and passkey.

Then there are the newer SSL VPN connections , in which you connect via a browser and establish a virtual desktop with the VPN server(s). These are typically CISCO and CITRIX type VPN front ends. They are much easier to configure from a client perspective.

You gotta know your VPN to do VPN so do your homework before attempting any of this.
