It is the same in all 4 quadrants, so you only need to look at x > 0 and y > 0. (where you can ignore the absolute values).

In that quadrant look first at y = 0. Then along the x axis the graph is just z = sin(x). Next look at x = 0. Along the y axis the graph is just z = sin(y). Now, for any number c > 0, imagine the line y = -x + c (that is, x + y = c) Along this line the value is constant, so you get a sine wave as you move out from 0.

And then just rotate it 90, 180, and 270 degrees to get the other quadrants.
