What, other than the obvious, is so special about this??

Why are women that are pregnant considered to be so beautiful. For examples there are scenes in movies where a women might tell her significant other in a surprising way that she is pregnant, and he might reply saying something like, "You've never looked as beautiful as you do now. . . " something to that extent. I know it's the fact that she's bringing another life into this world (which IS pretty big and special) but could anyone that has MAYBE been in this situation explain the emotions that are going through the man.

I'm a young teen who has yet to grasp the complete concept of this and am very curious about this.

Just wait until you get pregnant, and you will know the reason! You will actually FEEL pretty (regardless of your extended waist line, your puffy nose, face and fingers, and regardless of you eating like a pig).
Your skin will shine in a strange, sexy way, your hair will be at its best without ironing or care, you don't have to shave as often, the fatter your belly gets the happier you are (yes, can you imagine it)...
I want to have another baby just to get pregnant again :)

There are some who see a lot of beauty in the way a woman's body is able to produce another life. It's more in the mind, though. The next time you see a pregnant woman, imagine everything going on in there. A whole other person who could one day fix this world is being made. Hair, bones, teeth, features. All happening as you look from the outside. Personally, I didn't think I was so hot while pregnant both times, but the men around me did. My younger brother even took special precautions whenever I went out with him and my mother. My husband, on the other hand, didn't see it as anything special. He treated me badly and abused me. that's why I divorced his caveman butt.

Another reason is the supposed glow a pregnant woman has. Many times the complexion clears up, and her tone evens out. So you see this beautiful woman, who would otherwise most likely be suffering from acne, pimple free with a glow people travel to Hawaii for.

It depends on the guy. Some actually get creeped out by the whole thing of being romantic with a "mommy" while others get an extra surge of protective instincts. Some guys are really into the whole idea of being a father, whereas others would just as soon stay away from the whole thing and even get vasectomies to avoid going there.

Other than that, though, women may actually be more attractive due to the extra blood pumping through their systems, hormones, and so forth - the so-called "glow of pregnancy".

It's also the case that some guys - the nice ones - try to be reassuring to their wives while they're pregnant, try to make them feel attractive despite the fact that they feel like beluga whales.

Until you are in a relationship and have a special bond with the person who is having your child, (or child your having), then you probably wont grasp this concept. The movies are obviously not real. In real life my pregnant wife was a ***** and a half. But she was pregnant with triplets and she was beautiful. The "glow" from being pregant and the changing shape of her body was very attractive to me. Also the fact that we love one another enough to want to bring children into this f'd up world, gave us that special feeling.

Sweety, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. People like to compliment pregnant women because often the pregnant woman is feeling less than gorgeous.

I think it's mostly Hollywood that puts words into men's mouths, also.

Whats more beautiful then knowing your wife/girlfriend is carrying your baby. Yes, you might have a big belly but its the thought.
