i'm a guy and i'd much rathe go shopping or get together with my friends and chat over coffee. or i luv watching dawson's creek. football is stupid. a bunch of guys running up and down the field and knocking each other down. and the rules i have no idea all the rules and what they're doing. seems like pretty dumb.

well, sorry, if my friends came over and wanted to go shopping i think that would be alot more fun than watching some stupid game where it loks like you can get hurt.

Did you already ask this question a few weeks ago? I do advanced searches on Dawson's Creek questions and i remember this, it might have been someone else though....but anyway i to don't understand football and think its extremely overrated for a sport that causes so much fuss and injury, and i cant blame you for watching Dawson's Creek, its the best show ever created, I'm a Dawson's Creek freak if there ever is or was one, shopping's fun to, it starts to run me down after about thee 4th hour though, and you seem like a likable lady's man, i would be your friend if i was around you if you really liked all this stuff like your saying. Oh, I like chatting with friends, but i don't like coffee, I'll take a hot chocolate though!!

I went to college on a football scholarship. It is a lot of hard work preparing for those games, physically and (don't laugh) somewhat intellectually challenging... at least at the collegiate level. 15 years later, I barely even watch football at all. So, maybe the 'fun' was worked out.
Anyway, I think my 6 year old son exemplifies why guys think it is fun. Boys love nothing more than running around and bashing into things (or people). He loves to compete... be the fastest, or strongest... at such an early age it is neat to see these raw tendencies. My daughter serves as the perfect counterpoint.
Anyway, society idealizes the biggest, strongest, smartest... whatever. Think of it as a historical holdover to the survival of the fittest, with some good old american competitiveness thrown in. So we have this game where the biggest and strongest compete (with the coaching staff strategizing...providing the 'smarts') and I think that is why men gravitate to it.
Personally, I'll be in the coffee shop.. getting updates on my laptop.

Really? I think the facts that a bunch of guys running up and down the field knocking each other down is definitely a fun stuff to watch. Football is a contact sport and that's why it's so much fun.
Personally, as a girl, I love watching football because of the effort the team put out there in order to score a touchdown. It is very exciting.

If you are actually a guy then I would smack your mouth. Any guy that likes shopping and dawsons whatever is just gay. Guys like football because it is fun for us. My girlfriend hated my football facination when we first started dating, but she chose to try and like it and not ***** about it. She comes to the games with me, and she tries to understand it instead of whining about it. I hate shopping but I do that with her. Instead of complaining about it, she tried to get interested in it. I do the same with her, and it's more fun when you can enjoy something together instead of whining about it.

Personally, I don't like football. I despise it as a sport only second to basketball.
