The Nile is a major north-flowing river in Africa, generally regarded as the longest river on Earth.The Nile originates in Africa and ends in a large delta in Egypt that empties into the Mediterranean Sea. Its length is 6,695 km (4,160 mi).
(Amazon River is also regarded as the second longest river on Earth, with the length of 6,387 km (3,969 mi).☺

The Nile that runs accross most of Africa is generally regarded as the longest river in the world. It runs across Egypt, Tanzania, Lake Victoria, Uganda and Sudan etc. However some people regard Amazon as the longest river. This river is situated in Latin (south) america.
However geography authorities have confirmed that River Nile is the longest river over Amazon. The length of the River Nile is about 4,132 miles (6,650 kilometres) and drains an area estimated at 1,293,000 square miles (3,349,000 square kilometres).
