It might not be against the rules to ask, but if the seller only has enough to cover the auction, it may not be ok for them to sell it when the auction is still in progress.
You can however, ask after the sale, if it didn't sell, to see if they'll sell it to you.... as a seller sometimes people ask, but I never agree to that. They usually ask me to sell it for a price i'm not willing to sell for.

No, it's up the the seller because it's his stuff. If you make him a good deal, he saves some time. Although, he might not be able to withdraw his auction in the middle of auctioning. If he can, then it's fine. So it's not agaisnt the rules, but it might not be possible even if he wanted to. You can definitely try. You should too.

No, its not against the rules and you wouldn't be hurting anything but think about it. If you were in that person's shoes and you didn't know the person you were selling to would you want to stop the auction early just to make one person happy or leave the auction running so you could make more money. I believe all of us would choose to leave it up to make more money.

the seller wants the most money for the product, so if your offer is that good, you will win the product, you cannot ask for it because it will not be taken off the market until the end of the auction.

I don't think it's against the rules, but I'm not sure. I see it happen all the time, and the only thing that usually happens, is that the seller says they would rather it went to the highest bidder.

i'm not sure it is against the rules to ask, but I know it is against the rules for someone to do it unless they have a REALLY good reason - and that doesn't seem to include selling it to someone unless it is stated in the listed that the item is being sold locally as well.
