I mean if you know that your life is a complete lie.. but you're happy.. would you rather risk this happiness for living in truth ..even if this means probably being very screwed and sad?!

Living a lie happily depends on the lie. For example, I might be happy living the lie that I was a living God, but I doubt I could be happy living the lie that somebody I loved was not indeed suffering from cancer or that my family was perfect despite it's faults or something like that. If the lie is hurtful, I would rather expose the truth, even if it is also hurtful.

I don't think I could be truly satisfied living a lie, whatever it was, if I didn't know what the lie was. If I knew that I lived a lie but didn't know what it was, I would probably risk whatever "happiness" I had to find the truth. I value truth too highly to ignore it.

Most people would say that its easier to live a real dissapointment than a fake joy. But they dont understand how hard it is. For me i know that there are some parts of my life that are utter lies, but im happy(or at least happier now than how my life was before). Over time it doesnt seem very fake and im immuned to living this way, isnt being happy better than living a life of sorrow? Well actually i guess it depends what your situation is. Because your situation could be a big life altering one in which you just have to listen to your mind, your *consciuos, but most importantly your heart.

I would prefer to live real dissapointment and know that it is true rather than to live a happy lie. Living a fake joy is a shallow joy, and therefore is not complete joy. If we know the truth then we can act accordingly.

I would give up my fake joy, even though that might mean real disappointment. Take your time, it takes a lot of courage. It's easier said than done.

and I agree with what the first person said, a fake joy is a real disappointment.

If you ask me, my answer would be fluctuating, because there are always times when you need a fake hapines, a fake life when in the real life you got terribly sad, I will go on for some time with my fake life and happines, but most of the time though, you have to be in your real life, don't be a faker too much, you don't want to lead my kind of life......

But surely if you KNOW your life is a complete lie, then you are living in truth?

You mean like the matrix? i would rather live the truth. At least you are sure that what you see is what you got.... and who knows the truth might not be as bad as you think.

If you walk through life day -to -day and you are trurly unhappy. How can you seriously ever really convience yourself that you are happy?? Living in fase happieness is not being honist with ones self. Why would you want to live in denial?
