thats interesting. to speak frankly i tend to have an obsessive personality. and sometimes i fail to understand that what i want is not the same as my needs. i remember when i used to collect baseball cards, or my unhealthy obession with morrissey. those times clashed quite excessively with my frugal nature. thankfully i also get tired of things quickly :)

Yes, I have. Not every single thing that I want is necessarily what I need...in other words, there things that help you obtain your goals, wishes, dreams or what ever it may be. Things that one wants are for mere satisfaction, momentary pleasure, if you will. For instance, one can encounter this situation when trying to remain with a person who is clearly wrong for them; it is the needing that makes one be stuck with that insignificant other, while they could be finding some one else that could might well be the one they always wanted. This would just be an example of trying to distinguish between something that want and something that you need. I hope this makes sense, and doesn't reveal that I'm having a dilemma on this issue.

There's so much more things that I want than I need. Everything I need, I already have. The older I get, the less I spend. Money is hard to come by and so I always ask myself, "Do I really need this or that?" and if the answer is no, then I don't buy it.

Yes, I have. Something that you want is basically something that you can live without even though you might not think that you can live without it. Something you need is a necessity and you would die without it. Well that is my opinion. Like food and water for example. If you don't eat or drink then you will die.

yes. wanting something is, when I,m standing in front of Wendy's with, ten dollars and, hunger pangs. needing something is, when I'm standing in front of the Liquor store with a full stomach and, no ten Dollars.

I think I have too... I want so many things but don't really need them... I still want them though and if you can have them i don't see any reason why you should not have them...
