Your absolutely correct. We receive both light and sound wave energy when we see or hear anything.
I don't believe that's what gives us that strained feeling if we watch TV for extended periods - I believe that is just our body's way of telling us that it's time to rest a bit and give the ol' eyes a little time to recuperate.
That's because our bodies use more energy to process these signals than the signals provide.

Yes the energy is small. Our senses 'amply' the signal and is processed by the neural paths and our brains.

However, we feel strain because muscles are constantly working. Our eyes are constantly focusing, and not relaxing. So, they tier.

Even thinking we often flex factual muscles and they tier.

So, it's the muscle that are working that tier us not the energy that is being absorbed.

I think that this has less to do with energy hitting our retina than the overuse of eye muscles when we fix our eyeballs and focus in a particular direction for long periods. Think of it like holding your arm above your head in the same pose for a long period of time, eventually you muscles weaken there also.

Yes. Of course but the energy is quite small.

hmm... it is jus energy hitting our eyes, it doesnt get absorb by our body. the reason we feel strained is due to energy being used to process the image in our brain(in layman's term)

It takes very very very very little energy AWAY. It does not give you energy, it takes it away because your eyes and ears are doing work even though you don't think about it.
