First of all, determine the minimum qualifications for becoming a air hostess. There are certain physical attributes that are compulsory.

In addtion to that you must be fluent in English, Hindi (for an Indian airline) and one more foreign langauge.

If you know swimming its an additional asset.

If you already have these qualifications, straight away you can go for job interviews. Various airlines advertise regularly in the news papers and the internet for cabin crew.

If not, search the internet for various options like training schools/academies. Go for a govt recognized standard school, where you can get good training and one that has accredition.

Then you can soar. All the best!!!!

Most airlines require hostesses to be between 5'2" and 6'. This is so they can reach the back of the overhead bins but won't bang their heads on the ceilings. You have to know how to swim, and it would help to have some first-aid training. You'll also need several years' customer service experience, and it helps if you got this experience in an upscale environment (not McDonalds!). Second-language training is beneficial as well. Often airlines that are recruiting have ads in the back of the UK edition of Cosmopolitan magazine; start there if you live in Europe.

be nice to people, as you are serving customers. know your work well. for example, know what dishes you are serving, how to get to which seat, where to get a drink... but that comes later. first and formost, enjoy your work! then build your social skills with unfamilar people, and know your job well! good luck!
