Learn the minor pentatonic scale pattern:
This is the easiest version; this is in the key of A minor:
-------------------------------------5--8-
------------------------------5--8--------
-----------------------5--7---------------
----------------5--7----------------------
---------5--7-----------------------------
--5--8------------------------------------
This pattern can be moved all up and down the fretboard. Then take some of the notes and put them together, like:
---------------------------------------
---------------------------------8^10
--7^8^7--5-----5h7p5h7p5--------
--------------7-----------------------
---------------------------------------
---------------------------------------
EDIT: for some reason the whole tab won't show up. So that isn't the whole pattern. The top two lines are:
---------5--8-
--5--8--------

You need to learn to walk before you can run, dude. Learn your major chords, practice your butt off for about a year, and then you can learn some wicked face-melting solos. It's a commitment, it's not like you can wake up one day and say "I want to learn a riff or two". It takes time, practice, and patience. Guitar isn't easy, otherwise everyone would be doing it. You need to practice unitl your fingers hurt, and then practice some more.
