It could be because your computer is overloaded with data.
I know, that happened to me...just had too many programs,
saved emails, this and that....so I deleted almost all of them,
and my computer was not sluggish anymore.
You could also get in touch with the manufacture of the computer, and ask them.
Hope this helps a bit.
Good luck....

Okay. Go to your Start Menu and Control Panel and Go to Programs. Delete all the shxt you're not using. Seriously, there's alot of things that can slow your computer down. Delete anything you don't want like music files and pictures - things that take up alot of space. Make sure your Recycle Bin is constantly EMPTY. Restart your computer or shut it down for 5 minutes unplug your modem for your internet and plug back in then turn your computer back on. That should help!

Oh! Also.. In your IE or Firefox go to Tools and delete all your temporary internet files / internet files and history. You'd be surprised all the shxt it saves and how it builds up.

hIT ctrl ALT DELETE. See waht programs you have running, close any programs that you aren't using. Also check your programs installed on your computer, make sure no new spyware, or adware have been installed.

If it's only the internet, maybe the site you are going to has to many users and gets too buys making everything on your end slow.

If you have dial up, that could be another reason.

I would defragment my computer and try agin

try to delete some other programs that you dont use that take up a lot of space. check your internet connection. is it just the internet or is it the whole computer? if its the internet try re connecting. if its the whole comp you should get some anti virus software or get it checked out by the place you bought it. if theres a warranty on your comp they should fix it for free or really cheap

You can speed up your computer by defragmenting the drive, or stopping unnnecessary processes. If you use Windows, you can use the task manager to look at the processes running on your computer and how much memory and CPU they take up.

Try downloading and running a free version of CCleaner (Crap Cleaner). I've found that it finds a lot more useless, well... crap than some of the other programs out there. http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/
