It is not the same as the movie. Actually you are in luck because it is one of Charles Dickens's shorter novels.
I know it takes a long time to read this kind of novel, but be good to yourself, relax, find a quiet place to read and you will enjoy this book so much that you will look forward to reading other Dickens novels.

Yes the book was really great...it took a minute to get into...but you will appreciate the story that F. Scott Fitzgerald is trying to tell once you get into it some. Give it a chance. You definitely dont want to go according to the modern movie, its different than the book. But its always better to read it at least once, you can at least say you've read it.

Dickens is fantastic - take the time to get into the book, don't watch the movie it's just not the same. If you get really stuck and can't follow it then maybe get some crib notes to help you along.

that is my favorite book, you should read it, once you get into it you will really like it! if you are having problems with it maybe you can find an abridged edition somewhere. The movie (from the 1990's) is quite different. You might want to watch the old B&W movie (I don't remember what year it is .)

Its not the same as the modernized movie version. Go to sparknotes.com, plotbytes.com or Gradesaver to help you understand the real book.

I got the book on tape from the library and listened in my car whenever I drove, it sort of made me look forward to driving to work in the morning.
