In this day and age, why would a Dr. determine that anyway? It's no one's business...that's not what they are looking for at a checkup!

They are looking for an intact hymen, but you can be a virgin and not have an intact hymen due to the use of tampons. When you have sex and the hymen is broken it is referred to in slang as "popping the cherry" and sometimes there may be a little bleeding. *This is not a good way of determining virginity.

I'm surprised I remember this. At 16 my Gynecologist could tell by the way I answered when he asked me. I said "No" but he could tell I was lying because I was nervous and began to fidget when he asked me. So if you are trying to fool the good doctor then learn to lie really well, and just like public speaking watch your body language.

they cant. the hymen isnt broken by a tampon, but it can be broken by gymnastics, or bike accidents, or climbing trees, to name a few ways. (people used to be able to tell, but that was when girls werent allowed to engage in a lot of physical activity. now, we can do all sorts of stuff!!) so, if your hymen is broken, and a doc sees it, he doesnt know if its from having sex, or climbing a tree or whatever.

They're trying to find out your sexual history in order to check for STDs and to advise you on such things as well as preventing unintended pregnancy.
GPs never look. A visit to the Gyn can be painful (size of speculum) if you don't tell him/her the truth.
Oh, and tampons do NOT cause you to lose your hymen. That's a myth.

for the guy, theirs no way to tell by just looking.
for a girl, they inspect the hymen, that is a piece of skin that tears and removes the first time a woman has sex

theres really no way to tell..they could be able to tell if your hymen was broken but that wouldn't narrow it down much becasue your hymen can break through riding a horse, using tampons, all sorts of things

the chech the hymen, and they cant really tell by that either because that can be torn from riding a bike, horse, wearing a tampon, ect.
