According to Pediatric Growth charts your child is going to grow up to be an average size boy of about 5 ft 6-7 inches (also based on you and your husband's final ht- ht mostly is predetermined unless he is extremely malnourished or develops a hormonal problem . As far as wt is concerned, it also appears that he is following his growth curve. He may be getting enough calories from a combination of formula and food. Just try not to give him too much juice or extra water.
For the parents of my patients who are concerned about their baby's growth- sometimes I'll have them come in every 1-2 months during the 1st year of life to try to reassure the parents. You may want to ask your pediatrician (who is better than a family Doc at these issues) to help you with this.
Som inconclusion- your baby is growing well, following his growth curves, just continue what your doing and try to have frequent f/u by your child's MD. Hope this is helpful. Good luck

I don't think he's underweight at all! My son Hayden is going on 6 months (He was very small at birth, 6 pounds), and he weighs about 16 pounds probably more. Anyway, are you nursing or formula feeding. You son should be taking in about 30 oz a day. I think thats on top of the cereal. See, Your son seems to be growing fine because he's plenty tall, he sounds like he's at a good weight. You might want to try a different formula. That could be the reason he's not eating that much. Enfimil with Lipil is what I started to use when I weaned my son. Good luck, and I'm sure sure sure that your son is perfectly healthy

If he is healthy in all other ways and on track developmentally I wouldn't worry. My 5 1/2 month old is 15 lbs and was 7 lbs when born. He is much smaller than my friends babies that are close to the same age, but my husband was always small as a baby he is now 5' 8" my son is very active compared to other babies and stronger than them.

He will eat what he needs to. Babies will not starve themselves. About the weight, my 5 month old daughter is about 15 pounds also. It's a normal healthy weight, don't worry. When she was born she was 6 pounds even. She is breastfed so I'm not sure how many ounzes she takes in, but when my son was that age I think he was drinking about 20-30 ounzes a day.

Please don't worry. Your baby is going to be fine. Just keep giving him his feeding and food and if he's still hungry (from not eating enough) he will let you know. My son is very big (at 4 months he's 26" too and I'm only 5'4. Still I'm so proud I have a big healthy boy. That's all that should matter!

Make sure that he is a least eating the formula first and then worry about the solid food.

I think your son is fine. Every baby is different so you really can't compare him to others. Babies know when to eat. When my son was born he really would not eat much, but once he hit 6 months he went through a growth spurt and was eating like crazy. If he was sick, you would know it.

I'm sure your baby is perfectly fine. He might just be a little on the small side like his Mommy and Daddy.... nothing wrong with that. As long as he's having regular wet diapers/bowel movements and seems content ... I'm sure he's a-okay.

u have a perfectky healthy baby, just try to give him his formula more often, if he's not hungry don't force him. keep a close eye on him and make sure that he is not getting dehydrated or anything. just use your good judgement. go to babycenter.com and sign up its free, u can keep track of his development no worries.

he sounds ok. babies fluctuate in their height and weight. keep feeding him, it'll work just fine. don't get hung up on eating. eat to live not live to eat.
