Las Vegas comes to mind, but there's also Sedona, Arizona - beautiful and not far from the Grand Canyon. Other possibilities would include Savannah, Georgia - very southern, classic city - or New Orleans, even after Katrina.

This is a very nice spot in Ohio:

The lodge is gorgeous: (much better than what's pictured)

It has a beach, cabins, gift shop, boat docks, and an RV Park, and all of it is along Lake Erie. I give it four stars.

Not exactly sure how affordable they are these days but Monterey, CA or Carmel are pretty cool.

The Mendocino Coast (No. CA) has some gorgeous scenery.

So does Oregon.

Pismo Beach area in No CA is also nice.
