if what you want is to do is, to download music, videos or whatever at nite and go to sleep without stay awake waiting, like I do, just set your power saving settings to the appropiate value: "system standby: never", "hard disk power off: never" "screen power off: 5 minutes" (or whatever you want), keep the laptop connected to an AC outlet and that is it.
on the other hand, if what you want is download things at school while in class for example, well, that is more difficult, because some laptops allow you to stay on while closed, but most just send you to standby as soon as you close it and NO, you cannot stay connected while the computer is on standby, not a laptop not a desktop (unless you use a "wake-on-lan" NICon such desktop, but normally that is used when that pc is to be used as a file-server)

If that supplies you cyber web on your notebook then that's something mutually with your prompt connection. have you ever had different prompt connections until now, utilising the comparable cyber web provider, modem and router. make certain your settings are the comparable then. nonetheless greater matters, try taking notebook to Starbucks or different WiFi spot and notice in case you could connect there. that's imprecise, sorry, yet while it nonetheless does not artwork call the internet provider returned and that they could walk you thru it. If all else fails, touch somebody who can come on your place for a small fee and get you all fixed up.

well, why? Are you trying to download something? I just have my screen "sleep" but the downloads keep going. If the computer is sleeping, your connection is, for all intents and purposes, closed.

Possibly, have you tried it? I think you just have to have the wireless router on with enough power to it. Also, you shouldn't let the wireless adapter overheat.
