This ?? is pretty vague, but there could be a couple of reasons.....

The chattering could be a bad fan and if that's the case, your PC could be overheating causing irratic behavior, up to and including shutting off.

Another possibility is that a hard drive is starting to go bad, and that may cause some irratic behavior too depending on how familiar you are with computers. Could cause delays in getting things done, or could be errors on screen.

Without knowing more, that's all I got.

First click on the following link and download the cleaner:
http://ccleaner.com
(when you download it,use the alternate site, not file hippo)
after you have run the program an cleaned out all the junk, click on to the following link:
http://freshdevices.com
and download fresh diagnose.
After you register it,(these are all free by the way) run the bench mark test and take it from there. contact me if you have anymore questions concerning this simple problem.
Then run ccleaner once a week to keep your hard drive healthy, fast and clean.(your computer will thank you!)
This will usually fix the drives problems that are causing it to go, the cool thing about hard drives are that they work or not, no in between (bad sectors not withstanding) and usually they can be fixed and cleaned up and/or bad sectors routed around or repaired with a good burn in program.
If the drive fails, nothing can be done to bring back the dead.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
