As long as the main picture isn't you and the profile is private and your mother is allowed to have the password to be able to access your account. Sure then keep it ..... but if all that I meantioned before isn't flying with you then I suggest immediately deleting it.

Sweetie, that doesnt sound very dangerous to me.However, myspace is just like everything else,it is a fad.If you really think about it,people do not really talk about it as much as they did when it became popular.I dont find it to be that big of deal.I had one previously, and it just seems not worth the hype to me.That is only my mere opinion tho.To answer your question,if you enjoy it then it sounds pretty safe. You should let your mother see yours, and see what she says.I know that may be the last thing you want to do,but if she sees there is nothing to worry about more than likely she is going to say ok to it.If she thinks it isnt safe, then you should respect your mothers wishes and either suggest to her that you change something or if she would rather you delete it then respect that and do so.Good luck hun, have a good day!

Yes yours does sound safe- is your profile set as private as well? That really helps because then nobody can see your page unless they are your friend. Your Mom might be a little scared about it- afterall, that one girl left the country to go visit a creep! But you are doing a great job with not accepting ppl you don't really know. I personally like it because I can keep in touch with my friends from high school and see people I know, etc. And to be honest, I also met my husband on myspace.... we had been talking online(I was 22 at the time in college), and somehow he was talking about his roommate how he loved comics. Well, I blurted out, is his name so and so? He was like HOW DO YOU KNOW? I had worked with his roommate lol. So I ended up meeting him, and I thought we were just going to be really good friends... but turned out, we ended up getting married, and now we have a 13 month old son :)
Yes, there are some really scary people out there who will take advantage of you, so do be careful. But let your Mom know all this you said... that you are being responsible about it.
Goodluck!

I think you're fine hon. Don't be stupid like me n give friend requests n approve them. Now, mine is blocked n I can't seem to get back :(.
You seem like a smart girl. The people who get hurt on there are STUPID cause they should know better, especialy from what has been on the news. I'll admit I once said "Who cares?" but it really means something. People made fun f me n cyberbullied me there, so be careful n keep ur nose clean....
Just reassure ur mom that it's ok n take even more precautions and go over safety tips with her. Make her feel like her daughter is safe and independent, cause that is what you will be sincerely proving

Unfortunatly you are never safe I would advice you putting a cute picture as a main pic like a doll or something and not an actual picture of you as your main pic other than that your porbably set up as safe as you can.

Yes is sounds safe. You can also add a extra feature where people who request to be your friend must enter your last name or email address. If your mom still has her doubts offer to show it to her whenever she asks and ask her to proof read everything to make sure it is safe in her eyes. Remember, your mom is onlly saying this to you because she loves you and you can never be to careful.

I mean he's doing it on line and not going out to bars the place there's a real hazard that it would exchange into extra.... it kills me how some women human beings bypass off on a guy for this yet yet its ok for them to be out and approximately and to have men hit on them and that they only laught approximately that and how relaxing it particularly is to rigidity men loopy and hear the comments... properly honest is honest and a minimum of you will discover and study all that is going on with him on myspace and rather of having pissed approximately it how approximately putting comments on his web site and having some relaxing with it rather of attempting to administration him me and tell him what he cant and cant do....

You're probably right - it sounds pretty safe. However, if your mom is really worried about you, you probably should delete it. You have no idea how much a mother worries about her daughter, even when it seems unjustified.

Sounds really safe, your mom is wrong....in a way, the site isn't dangerous its the people and the way they use it. You are a lot safer.........then most people. And keep it that way!!!
