How are TV views for commercials counted?
My friend always flips the channel when he is watching a basketball game when a certain basketball players Television ad comes on. He says that when you flip the channel the basketball player doesnt get as much money for his next ad with less views.
I told him that TV views are not counted from your personal television but he insists that when he views the T.V the commercial he is viewing can see that he is watching that ad.
So am i right and he is stupid or is he right and i am mistaken?

okay, like the tv stations keep up with commercials anyways. It isnt the comemrcial that the basketball player makes money off of, its how much they sell of whatever they r advertising. So ur friend is wrong. And u r right my friend. (You PAY for an advertisement to TRY to sell more of ur product. You DONT make money from the ad)

U are right. its how much of the product the player is advertising that determines how much they get paid. How are ppl gonna keep track of how many ppl are watching a random commercial

TV advertisements buy time slots to reach it's target audience.changing the channel doesn't affect product sales

they don't know who watches it but they some how (don't ask em how cause i don't know) they can get the general feel of the amount of people who watch things. that is how they know if a television show is worth repeating or not
