Absolutely not. Loaches of any kind cannot be housed with salt, as they are among the many scaleless fish. Salt will burn through their slimecoating and possibly start burning the skin. This can result in infection, and possibly death.

From http://www.wetpetz.com/clownloach.htm :
"Because they have no scales, they are sensitive to medications and salt in the water. Half dosages of treatments are necessary when medicating tanks containing Clown Loaches."

I have a tank with a clown loach in it and i add tablespoons of salt to his tank with every water change. It acually helps in gill function and provides electrolytes. Also I work for a petstore that sells clownloaches and we put salt all thru our system. And they are very healthy. just dont do over the recommended amount and they should be fine.

loaches do not like salt. Puting salt in the water with loaches would feel like sticking an open wound in salt. You can do it but it will hurt the fish and may even make them sick

We have one in our tank with our freshwater fish & it's doing fine. I've seen it nip at the other fish a couple of times, but since it's mostly a bottom of the tank kind of fish, it basically leaves them alone.

it will be perfectally fine as long as you watch your salt level. petsmart does salitiy testing for free with your regualr water test but at some stores you have to ask for it, just follow the directions on the package and remember salt does not evaporate
