I paid my November rent with a $1200 cashier check. They say they never received it. When I know who I gave the check to. I found my receipt and before I can deliver it to the office....I lost it. I am now facing an eviction in a couple of days. The bank says I have to wait 90 days. I don't have 90 days or extra $1200 for my rent. What can I do?

You show up in court and ask for an extension until you can prove that they got paid. If your bank issued you a cashier's check, get a copy of the statement (or even the check) to show that you withdrew 1200. Next time, get a receipt.

The burden of proof is on you. Can you imagine how many people would not pay rent, if they thought they could get away with it? If you really did get it through your bank, they wouldn't make you wait for 3 months!!! I can't imagine your apartment complex evicting you if it was the first time either... something's
fishy around here...
