I've tried to get that Christmas smell (because now we have a fake tree), but it just can't seem to work! I've tried sprays, candles, decorations, and even cutting or branches of a real tree and hiding them discreetly aroudn the house. AND, from all of this I have discovered that it really is impossible to get that full on Chructmas smell without the whole tree. Sorry, probably didn't help, but it's the truth.

Sadly to say we can not afford a real Christmas tree. But our tree is fake and at the moment it smells like peppermint

I'm not sure what your asking. If you love the smell of pine, get some pine scented candles or hang a wreath.

Just guessing top of my head, grind in in blender and put around house in baskets or whatever, use as potpourrie. If your artistic use some of the wood base to carve ornaments. If all else fails take a lighter to it , just kidding...........
