-Not in the way that you hate the people who raised you but the question is really refering to what you were exposed to or not exposed to.

This is a question for my sociology class. I thought it was very interesting, just wanted some outside opinions from others.

Well. sometimes - kinda - but on the other hand, I simply wouldn't be the person that I am now without that combination of experiences, and who knows what I would be like if they were different. - And Iike who I am, so its not like I would change a thing. So, it wouldn't exactly be like a regret, y'know?

Sometimes i wonder what I'm missing out by being raised in New York and only having traveled outside of the United States once in my life, opposed to an individual who was raised traveling around the globe, being exposed to hundreds, even thousands of societies and beliefs.

I love my mama for the way she raised me! We were poor when I was growing up, and knew the value of hard work. I wasn't too sheltered, but not allowed to go 'wild' by any means. I was taught good morals and was raised a Christian, and learned to appreciate everthing I have in life. I was given creative freedom. I was allowed to run around outside barefoot and roll in the grass, and play in the woods.

I was sheltered from things like sex until my friends started talking about it. But because of the morals instilled in me I never felt pressured to joke about it, or even think about being sexually active just because its 'expected' by my peers. I was taught to be who I am, no matter what anyone else thinks of it.

I lived in a cruddy trailer and my dad left when my twin brother and I were infants, but I grew up in a loving household and I don't regret any of it. Now I'm a college student, perfectly comfortable with myself, and working on an artistic career.

There are some things my parents taught me growing up which I personally wouldn't teach my own children. Whenever I had a problem with any of my friends, instead of telling me to deal with it, they would tell me, don't worry about it. They were very overprotected and didn't let me go out a lot with my friends, so I would get into a lot of fights with them, and I didn't like them very much as a teenager. If I ever wanted to give something to one of my friends, they would say no because it is mine and they bought it and its not meant for other kids.

I would teach my own children the exact opposite of these lessons.

However, my parents always taught me to be careful who you trust in life, and this lesson really taught me a lot.

Of course, I love my parents. There are just some things they did which I did not approve of. I'm being frank here.

I don't have any regrets...I would not mind being able to go back an change couple of things in my life. For instance the day my dad died I would like to go back to the morning I left for school and tell him I love him because I will never get that chance again

My upbringing was shelted due to my religion and was not exposed to things until later that my classmates knew already. I was protected but made me LOOK DUMB because I didn't have a clue what most sexual references meant. It does have an impact on your life. The parents may think they are helping you but they are actually hurting you.

No regrets. My family traveled every Summer for a two week vacations to different parts of the U.S. Those trips are a huge part of my personality and education today.

I do not regret anything. Even still it was up to my parents why would I be regretful for something I had no control over? I did not know what I was going to be brought up in. I think people should realize this before they have kids think about what kind of life your going to be able to provide for your kids and how you can protect them, and right bring them up properly.

No, never. If I hadn't had the experiences I had in my life I wouldn't be the person I am today and I love the person I am. We all have our crosses to bear and our dresses to wear and I do each proudly. I wouldn't change a single thing.
