when you need to know what to say to the person asking a question you might not know the answer so you need time to roll it over to know how to answer that question.

When I'm trying to remember where I put something. Someone will ask me where something is like a tool or tape or a piece of paper and I have to say "hold on, let me think"

Last time I said it was when I was at an ATM and a guy put a gun in my back and said, "Your money or your life." I froze. I said nothing. The guy shoved the gun in a bit and said, "I said, your money or your life." I started to get a bit impatient and I fired back, "I'm thinking, I'm thinking."
