They should be but they are not. Their view of life is not particle. They make it appear glamorous but living simple is the best.

Many sports stars are good role models but they should not be under any obligation to do so. Being a professional athlete is basically like any other job. If people are supposed to be good role models because they are into sports, then everyone else with any other job should also be a role model.

Sure. I just think the problem is that it's difficult to be good role models because of distractions (the ubiquitous presence of the media, fame, partying, etc.). Sometimes, it's all overwhelming for sports stars to handle. So ideally, the answer is yes, but I suppose we must all understand that being good role models at their level of stardom is not as easy as one would think.

Yes they should be good role modles because of the fact that millions of little kids look up to them and want to be them when they grow up. so if the stars are talking trash cusing and fighting then the kids will see that as the right thing to do. So because of that sport stars should be good role models

Sports stars are nothing but regular people who get paid to play. They can be whoever they want. People prefer them to be role models because they are always in the public eye, but it all depends on what kind of person the athlete is. They should just be themselves.

Whoever looks up to them as a role model should look up to them based on their sport's duties, like "I want to be just like Michael Jordan" or something. That's about it. Role models should have morals and all of that.

No. They're human. They make mistakes. They aren't obligated to be anyone's role model.

I think they can be, but I don't think they should be the only ones. Athletes live a "big money" life style and children shouldn't just get stuck on the money. I also support athletes that do thing in the community(read to kids, businesses, donate to shelters.)
