Well, just have her crawling on the floor only in one or two rooms.
You need save rooms anyways, so she wont fall into glass and what not.
And in those "baby" rooms you take off your shoes and clean the floors a bit more often.
Problem solved :)

All kids develop on different time-lines, so it's okay that your 5 month old is already crawling. (I was walking at 7 months.)
Get your carpets shampooed regularly if you have carpets. (make sure any fluids used are non toxic) If you have hard floors, then sweep and damp mop daily. This is all you should have to do. If you're not sure, then ask your pediatrician.
There's no reason to germ proof your house unless your child has an extremely low immune system. Germs help build up your child's immunities anyway! That way they don't get sick every time someone sneezes around them.
On a side note: if you're worried about your baby's knees getting all raw, just cut the tops off of some tube socks and slide them over her legs. It's a cheap trick that really helps prevent rug burn.

Well if your child gets sick easily then you might want to ask your pediatrician if not well not all germs are bad and if that doesn't sound great just extra clean when you let your baby out to crawl but being five months and crawling is not a bad thing just keep a close eye and your baby should be fine... I let my baby crawl around when it was five month and she is two and doing fine

Let her crawl on the floor! It's good for babies to have the experience of being able to move themselves around, follow Mom around, get where they want to go, etc. If you're worried about germs, clean your floors more often--but let her get down there and crawl around!
(Be sure to use floor cleaners that are safe for kids.)

You have got to be a first timer!! That's so sweet! I remember worrying about things like this, but after 4 you begin to relax...A LOT!! LOL!
Don't worry...I'm sure she'll be fine! Especially if you are breastfeeding...she gets the benefits of your immune system :)
Best wishes & congratulations!

I am sure she will be fine, I know some people that have the dirtiest house I have ever seen and their kids turned out healthy and just fine.

It depends on her condition. I am sure she will be okay, but the only way to be sure with your concern is to take her to a doctor. But for now, let het crawl where ever she please. (Well not WHERE EVER, but you get the point!)
