There are many different things you can do to ease the cold. Try drinking lots of Tea for example some ginger root tea. To make this you will want to boil about 4 cups of water. Get a 2" chunk of ginger and peal off the peal. chop it up into small slivers and put it in the boiling water. you will want to then turn down the heat and put a lid on the pan and then let it simmer for 10 to 15 min. Its recommended to not use sweetener, but i know for me i have to have a little bit of honey.

Next a lot of people swear by garlic. I know... ewe... but it does have a lot of healing properties. Some say you should make a tea with it, but i say that is gross, so just take one clove of garlic, peal off the husk, and cut it in to small chunks, DO NOT CHEW! this will lead to bad breath. just swallow the garlic with water like tacking a pill.

My last recommendation is sweet lemon tea. My mom used to make this for me all the time when i was little and sick. She would boil some water put it in a glass with a whole lemon and some honey to sweeten it. I always felt better after drinking that tea. and it still works to this day, even though i have to make it my self now.

If you just treat the symptoms like the medical people and drug companies tell you to do, you will extend the cold and interrupt the body's natural healing methods. If you take antibiotics, you will destroy over 3/4 of your immune system that resides in your colon called friendly bacteria. And also, about another 10% of the immune system that resides in the peyers patches of the small intestines will be compromised due to the debris being collected their from eating the SAD diet (standard American diet). I'm truly surprised that ALL people are not walking around with colds and flu everywhere. There are over 200 different cold viruses that can attack the body. In order to get a cold, you must get the virus by entering into the body in the pharyngeal passage inside your nose or through the tear ducts in the eye. You can't get it by kissing someone or going out in the cold weather. It is strictly close contact. This is why colds happen in the winter more because people are inside buildings rather than outside separated more. The best way to prevent a cold is to boost your immune system because, ultimately, that is what will protect you. In fact, if it weren't for our immune system, we would be a pile of dust in less than 2 weeks. Vaccinations reduce your overall immune system and pollute your blood, making you more susceptible to colds and flu. For more understanding of this, read the book, "The Sanctity of Human Blood" by Timothy O'Shea. You can help yourself become resistant to colds and get rid of them quickly if you get one. Since you have one, this means that your immune system is compromised and that is normal in America. You need to stay completely away from all cold medications that only treat symptoms and make it worse and last longer, even though you may feel a little better. Go to: (800) 370 - 3447 and order the following: Nucleotides --- Take 1 each 1/2 hour all day long when you first feel a cold coming on and the next day it will be gone. If you get a cold, do the same thing, but you will have to do it for 2, maybe 3 days at the most for all the symptoms to go away. Additionally, do NOT take Ascorbic Acid thinking that you are getting vitamin C. The C complex has about 7 cofactors that are required to work in your body. Ascorbic Acid won't even cure scruvy. It is one element in the complex and taking this junk, especially since it is a synthetic, will damage your DNA and deplete your body of the "C" cofactors and calcium. Eat lots of grapefruits because they are the primary food that contains Quninine that is an incredible infection fighter. If you have sinus issues, that is your liver that is in bad shape. You can put castor oil on your sinus areas and then apply a hot towel for about 5 minutes and then repeat this by heating the towel every five minutes and do this for about 1/2 hour. Do this as often as you need for relief. Also, buy some Breath Rite strips and use them at night instead of cold medications. This keeps you breathing at night and won't compromise your sinus cavities with that medical drug junk. Now, to keep from getting into this position, you need to see a certified nutritional therapist to get tested to see what nutrient(s) you are deficient in. This takes the guess work out of what vitamin you need. They can recommend a diet and supplements that will point you in a direction of health, not the drug insanity that is rampant in this country. good luck

Drink plenty of water, buy some vitamin C tablets. Sometime when I didn't have money for cold products I would make my own little concoction and now thats all i do. I don't even buy the theraflu stuff any more. I put a cup of water it the microwave with some drops of lemon juice and about 3 cough drops and drink it. sometimes I add some liquid cough medicine too. It helps soothe my cough and my throat better than anything I have ever bought.

Chicken noodle soup is PROVEN to work! Also, keep comfy by taking a tylenol to keep fevers and aches and pains at bay. Rest as much as possible.

Have to agree with Hogie. Zicam is amazing, as long as you start taking it at the first hint of symptoms.

take a nice hot bath and put a wash cloth in the water and put it over your face so it will let the steam go thru your nasal passage.

Take something like NyQuil to help you sleep, and pile on so many blankets you can't move.
