Welcome to the world of ipods. absolutely beautiful gadgets, but really they are a piece of sh*t. I have the ipod from back in the day when it costed 400 bucks, and that crap's battery life never lasted more then 3-4 hours as opposed to the promissed 12 hrs. also it froze one day, just off the warranty, so now im stuck with a white box that doesnt do anything. I know how frustrated you are. but you might still be under the waranty, so call apple up, and tell them your case. and if they can't fix it over the phone they'll send you a new one. make sure you tell them that not only the battery is shitty, but also its frozen and won't work. that way you might get a new one. it should still be under the warranty if you bought it less than an year ago.
good luck

Start by going to the original place of purchase... I'm assuming either BestBuy or Circuit City........... Bring the reciept and explain that it is freezing and not holding a charge. Speak to a manger if possible. Be polite, yet firm in your position, screaming and yelling won't work, and a lot of store clerks just don't care as they are temps for the Holidays. Also keep in mind inventory might not have what you want right now since it IS Christmas shopping season. Another thing you should try is going to the settings menu if its not completely frozen, and reset from there. Hope this helps some, and I'd be pissed too!!

trust me they lie to you. The battery for the ipod video like the one I have, the battery only lasts for that long if you only do music, and the volume is ectremely low. If you use the video, it uses up so much more battery

iPods are notorious for their batteries not working the marketed length of time. There's nothing wrong with yours; that's the way they all are. iPods are undependable, but beautiful, little gadgets.
