Usually 'good afternoon, officer. What's the problem?' Although the one that pulled me over on my 22nd birthday, clocking me at about 120 mph, got 'oh helllllllllll' And I didn't get a ticket, either, just a warning. I was laughing so hard, he didn't have the heart to give me a ticket. And I was sober, and it was 2 in the afternoon, which helped, I think.

Hands on the steering wheel at the higher position, smile and say "Hello, Officer." Then just listen to instructions. Let the officer be in charge of the situation. Don't speed!

Speak to the officer in a normal conversational manner. Don't under any circumstances curse or blow your top at them as it will only make things worse. A good morning, good afternoon or good evening officer is a pleasant starter. Any bad manners on your part and you'll find yourself on the loosing end of a stick.

Here in Oregon I am a tad bit afraid of our cops these days...
If pulled over I would roll the window down enough for him/her to hear me and say "hello officer"? Trust a officer, NO way!! Get shot here.....

They can only pull me over if I was speeding.

Officer: I've been waiting all day for you, son?
Me: Well, I tried to get here as fast as I could, sir.

Whether I know I was at fault or not, the first thing I say is "Did I do something wrong?" lol. I don't even know why, that's just the first thing that pops out of my mouth.

- Hi. Did I do something wrong?

It depends on what happened. I would be very polite and say, "Officer, did I do something wrong?"
