I get really depressed around the holidays. What can I do about this?

I think that more than half the population gets depressed around the holidays, for many reasons. I do, too, sometimes. I just try to remember that no matter how hard I think my life is, there's always someone who is worse off than I am. Then I try to concentrate on doing nice things for people to try to get into the holiday spirit.

yes. Actually it is very normal. Mostly for days past, or happier times in your life, or even regrets. Find new ways to celebrate the holidays. Maybe with friends, family, or co-workers. Think about the real reason for Christmas. If you are not a believer, make it a point to have fun, don't let the holidays bring you down.

There are a lot of people who get the blahs due to it being dark out from winter and the holidays being a family time. If you don't have much family or aren't doing anything special on the holidays create your own trad. by serving soup at a soup kitchen or making a special meal for yourself.

Most importantly take care of yourself and remember that your not alone.

nicely, my oldest sibling(50ish) cried cuz we've been bored together with her working around shooting, even the two 365 days previous nephew advised her 'not greater pictures!' different siblings basically appeared to be snippy w/ one yet another for no actual reason. My mom tries to stress feed each and every physique w/ her new, bizarre meals, that she enjoys yet no person else does. I basically kicked returned this 365 days w/ approximately 4 glasses of wine, and watched the idiots. If any of them had an argument w/ me, I basically mouthed off! i'm the 'infant' of seven(40 yrs previous) and that i might particularly stay domicile and curl up w/ a sturdy e book than circulate to a different family occasion.

I get down around the holidays when I see everybody buying gifts for their boyfriend/ girlfriend and I start thinking about my ex-boyfriend. On like Christmas tho I'm happy because I'm with my family and they make me laugh.

Every other person you see walking down the street. It's the time of year that has higher depression rates and higher concentrations of suicide. Hope you're not getting down, turn your frown upsidedown
