Alcohol takes about 24 hours to be removed by the system (but regulated by other factors such as fatty foods, etc) and it is normal that you will feel sluggish the day after. The residual effects of alcohol can takes as long as a week to be removed from the system and most are done by the liver which is involved with other tasks in digestion so the triad of diet, amount of alcohol and time will determine the result. Many physicians and other professionals are alcoholic and are able to perform tasks expected of them but I would prefer a sober physician.

Yeah, I hate that cloudy feeling after a night of drinking. But all the alcohol and its negative effects have left your body within 24 hours of your last drink. What could cause fuzziness lasting as much as a week or two is dehydration (a side effect of booze) and sleep deprivation (a side effect of staying out all night at a party and then passing out in an uncomfortable position). So don't get totally hammered if you have a test coming up.

Your brain is probably slow because your blood sugar is low. When you drink alcohol you blood sugar spikes but then after you quit drinking it will drop fast unless you have enough protein in your system to help keep it level. When you get up the next morning your blood sugar is low and you will be slower and more groggy so to speak because of this. Eat something high in protein before you go to bed or first thing in the morning and see if this doesn't help you out.

you may think you are not hungover, and you may not show some of the more common openly adverse effects, but between the booze you've poisened yourself with, and the probable lack of decent sleep you've missed, your body and brain is hurting. It all depends on the shape you are in, and how experienced of a drinker you are. Id say that with a couple nights good rest, food, studying and no drinking you should be fine

I've always heard that every time you drink alcohol, it kills some of your brain cells.

why would you need to quantify this? Every episode of intoxication kills some brain cells, the more drunk or the longer you do it the worse it gets.
