To me its a 3 way tie, in this order between American Pie by Don McLean, Castles Made of Sand by Jimi Hendrix, and Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin.

Classic rock is the best rock!

Hey Mr. Dynamo, You ask a VERY, VERY difficult question to answer. There are many ways to be the BEST, yet what I find is,
all that matters is: what you enjoy musically and consider the best. I read a little on you to see that you were raised in Ohio; as was I. I was in Cleveland. Did you ever listen to the: "Nite" Owl on:
WMMS? One of my older gigs. In that I relate to:
1) Stairway to Heaven - Led Zepplin
1) I'm Your Captain - Grand Funk Railroad
1) Rocky Mountain Way- Joe Walsh and Barnstorm (of course)
he's a Cleveland boy
1) Funk 49 - the: James Gang (Joes 1st Band)
1) Strawberry Fields Forever - John Lennon & the: Beatles
this is another type of favorite. When you bought the Sgt.
Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band album and played this
cut, you turned the 33 1/3 rpm speed to 45rpm at the end
of this song and you heard John Lennon say: "Paul is
dead man, miss him; miss him; miss him. This was one
of the gratest stunts of any kind ever done historically in
any field. It had an entire generation wondering if: Paul
McCartney were actually dead. Part of the genius that
was: John Lennon.
1) For What It's Worth - Buffalo Springfield
1) Cats In the Cradle - Harry Chapin
AND THE LIST GOES ON............-but- as I mentioned to you
initially, find that which feeds your head w/ pleasantries; pain;
anger; blues; meloncholly type of day? There's music 4 that
too! When I was in radio their was one thing that I never ever
forgot. That simply was that: if it wasn't for my listeners :
"turning me on", I wouldn't of had a job. If you like my :
previously mentioned "best", help yourself at the station that I
have on Rhapsody: NiteOwl 101. Hope this helps you as
much as music has helped me!
this is:
the:
"Nite"
Owl
sittin' in your ear.
Peace.
