Star Wars made the most money. And I saw it more times than I can count. This was before VHS or CD's. I saw it 5 times at the theater in 1 day. AND I bought a ticket each time.
I NEVER saw Lord of the Rings. I do not like movies during the days of the knights. That includes the upcoming dragon movie.
Harry Potter is just plain fun. A bunch of kids fighting really bad adults. Interesting thing, though, the creature that collects socks, can do magic WITHOUT a wand.

LOTR, hands down. The story is so complicated, and the movies are so realistic- especially considering the fact that they're based in a fantasy world! Those movies are based on one of the best epic novels of all time- Tolkien was an absolute genius. I don't think the people who arent LOTR fans understand just how extensive Middle-Earth is. Tolkien made up entire languages, wrote histories and made maps- he made Middle Earth seem real. Plus, this story is full of messages that are important- things like friendship and honor, bravery in the face of death. Don't get me wrong- I loved Star Wars, but LOTR just beats it.
I never saw Harry Potter... the two books I read were ok, but they didn't appeal to me emotionally like LOTR did.
