This is so weird, my name is Kelsey and I want to go into English in college and I've had this very same thought: will I get a salary out of this? So far, what I've come up with is becoming an editor for either and publishing company or newspaper, it's a modest salary compared to a doctor or lawyer, but it won't leave you begging at doorsteps, and we'll get to be around writing every day.

All majors deal with writing. Good writing skills are required by doctors, lawyers, police officers, firemen, teachers, everyone!

If you're looking for a high paying job, that requires good writing skills you can pick anything and good writing skiills will help.

If you're looking for a writing job that pays well, there aren't many. Maybe if you're lucky enough to write a screen play!

Have you looked into technical writing? It involves a lot of computer knowledge, but you get to write a LOT and it pays very well... and the job prospects for tech writers are very promising. I guess it depends on the type of writing you want to do.
