There is a chat channel on World of Warcraft specifically for forming groups. It is called LookingforGroup.
While playing enter '/join LookingForGroup' and you will join the channel. You will see messages from everyone looking for form a group for specific quests.
Groups form and disband rapidly. People will some together, finish a quest or two, then go their separate ways. Sometimes, if the group is successful enough, longstanding, recurring partnerships may form where individuals can save each others names in their Friend's List and team up more often (Maybe even go as far as form a guild).
So you should not have much problems joining a group

hey play as both alliance and horde on diff. servers there both as fun with more variety. also if ur lookin to join a guild, theyll recruit u through the game.

Just find someone to play "big brother" to you in the game. Let them teach you the ropes and so on. I'd do it, but I don't play the game any more. All you gotta do is ask zone wide in the newbie zone if any " Any Newbie guilds recruiting?"

Joining guilds are easy. Just ask in the GuildRecruitment channel or the LookingForGroup channel and say something like:
"Any guilds recruiting?"

There are many WOW groups on the Yahoo Group site. They are very helpful, and you can get information to decide.
Everyone in my household is active on WOW.

I dont have an acount at the moment but it is easyer to find a group if you use the ingame chat.
