I wish I had a really good answer for you... but sometimes meeting people can be really hard to do, especially nice people who are genuinely interested in being your friend for the right reasons. I know it is hard not to get depressed over it, but take a deep look and ask yourself what do you want in a friend?? Somehow I get the feeling that despite the fact you go to these single functions etc, there is something else going on... maybe you are being overly critical with the people you want to associate with or perhaps you need to find others that share the common interests as you do. Just because you haven't bumped into someone yet... doesn't mean you ever will... keep your chin up and be positive and smile!

I hear ya.
I'm a guy. Same problem.
All I meet are people with loads of issues I'm not really into.
Hartd to be nice when your constantly dealing with other peoples problems.
I've tried a lot of places to meet good people.
They tell me churches are great but not really my thing.
I think I'm gonna try night college classes next.
Ya just cant give up. There must be someone out there.
Hey if your in Az drop me a line we'll have coffee.
If nothing else it'll get you out of a rut
Change of pace for me too.

I do not know why this is. I have been with both type of women and I kind of like the smaller type anyway but I do understand where you are coming from . I too have a son and I get tired of some of the everyday crap. I would love to talk to you if you like IM me or write. Not another pick up line just someone to talk to. I to am a single Dad.

Instead of trying to find friends, why not try to be a friend by helping others? Join an organization or group that does volunteer work for those who need help. Take all that "super-niceness" of yours and give it to people who may just need a kind word or a sympathetic ear. You'll be surprised how joyful you will be when you attempt to bring joy to others!

I know this sounds mean but get over the pitty party. No body will love you if you don't love yourself. Friends (and I am talking about true friends) will be there throught thick and thin. You need to get out of bed and take care of your children!!! Don't you think your children are your friends? I see you said if it wasn't for your youngest daughter but what about the older child? Do they not matter? Please let me know because I am curious!!!!
