The first three responses are pretty good, taken together, each with its own wisdom. But your question to me sounds more like a broad question about force composition.

And THAT question can really only be answered with an eye to the campaign(s) you play, the battlefields you maneuver your army around, and the force(s) you will encounter there, on those battlefields.

The orcs and goblins army lists are rather restrictive, and they force you to build an army that has adequate heavies, but inadequate light troops. Your dogs and gobbos have nuisance value only, unless you have a huge battlefield with plenty of cover for the lightweights to use in their approach to combat--or in their avoidance of combat--or plenty of space for the dogs to make a WIDE movement into the rear of the enemy. And who do you play with who has that kind of battlefield set up?

But I like 'the green machine,' too, and I build my army around the heavy infantry--lots of 'em. The pigs are useful for spoiling attacks against enemy heavy-cavalry-equivalents, and you'll want enough to blunt those attacks; your heavy infantry can deal with weakened heavy cavalry easily enough. A broad attack with echelons of boyz can't be ignored, provided only that the approach isn't too exposed to fire; therefore, have enough heavy infantry for a significant attack in echelon on one wing of the enemy. (And get used to the idea that you must become unpopular with your playmates, as you simply won't leave the bushes to march into prepared killing zones with your greenies, and that you'll just scuttle off the field at the first sign of significant dragonry.)

Bulk out your army with rank and file units.

yeah well it all depends on how you play, if you want heavy firepower i would keep a few of the dreadnought things and some heavy weapons troops
