Not so much prejudice and racism as shame. I am White. I am ashamed at how the White people feel they are supreme to all others. I am ashamed that even though we are descendants of immigrants who may or may not have come here legally that many of my fellow Whites feel they have a right to judge the new wave of immigrants coming today and try to keep them out. They like to claim it's about breaking the law when the truth is it's because the new immigrants are brown and non-English speaking. I think the atrocities the Whites did to the Native Americans in obtaining this land are finally coming back around and the Whites are so self-righteous that they feel they are above paying for the sins of their forefathers. This is NOT our land. Only God owns land. Whoever happens to be here - the descendant of a slave, the White descendant of a former immigrant or the current immigrant today - regardless of status - are all here ONLY by the grace of God.

Yes. I'm a typical white American female. We have black caucases, we have Cinco De Mayo, we have all sorts of clubs and associations and even college courses discussing different ethniticies, pageants, proms, etc.

Try celebrating being white and you're labeled a racist. We're blamed for slavery -ever checked your history? We didn't start the slavery issue, but we did buy into it (no pun intended), but we catch all the blame. Yes, our forefathers did some really high handed bullshit (eminent domain is like the top of the list), but you know what? I've never taken anyone's land, never owned a slave, never judged anyone for their historical boo-boos. If that were true I'd have to dislike Cathlolics, Germans, Blacks (after all, their forefathers are the ones who sold them!).

I'm tired of losing jobs to less qualified people because of their ethnic background. I'm tired of people thinking I'm a bigot smply because of the color of my skin. We'll never have TRUE equality until people are judged by WHO they are and WHAT they stand for, not inequal treatment so things are "equal". That's crap.

I remember being at camp at 7 and having the councilor insist on pointing out anything protruding from something else as being just like a Jewish nose or interestingly enough first time I ever heard this one, a Jewish neck. It took me some time to understand that there are some people are misguided and you don't listen, believe or emulate them.

Sure. I'm white, and I've been called a honky m*****f***** by black people just for living in the wrong house, or stopping in the wrong store to buy a Pepsi. Is that what you mean?

I am Caucasian ("white") and lost a job to a less qualified person because they were a minority member and I wasn't.
