How can I easily trasnfer DVDs to my video Ipod?

Super easy instructions please. I am just so excited I bougth this neew iPod and you can't do direct video-itunes-ipod transport. meh. So please tell me where I can get some FREE software w/ instructions on how to use it.Thanks:D

I've searched up software but some of it such as Handbrake only works for Mac and other download sites are illegal and the coding is just too confusing. Any help you can give would be very appreciated though^_^

Personally, it took me awhile to get the hang of it, but now I can put All and Any of my DVDs to my ipod. So if you have questions or need further help with this, please be free to contact me.

there really is no easy way, first you have to rip the movies from the DVDs, then you have to convert their format and stuff, then save it, then using your ITunes or w/e put it on, a good program for converting, and it's easy, use "handbrake". BTW there is a lot of contreversy flying around about the legality of riping DVDs like you do music, so don't do anything you'd regret. But i'm basing most of this from a tech show which I watched today that covered the whole putting movies and stuff onto your IPod, so I don't if a lot of it is true or not.
