No. He and Mel Gibson both showed their true colors and that is it. Obviously it is in their psyche right there all the time. Just because a "celebrity" can move their lips and say "sorry" does not a true apology make.

I am a black american women. i grew up in bed-stuy brooklyn. There is not a day that goes by that i do not here the word n*igga which is in no shape the same word as n*gger. There is a difference. Yes it is true. I am 38 years old and i have watched Michael Richards for years so it hurt me to here the hateful things that he said. "50 yrs from now we would be hanged from a tree" is what he said. "he's a n*gger, he's a n*gger" he said and I feel he means that from the bottom of his heart. He felt that mans opinion didn't matter and he was out of place for heckling him because back 50 years ago he would have been hanged for disrespecting a white man. If that had been a white man getting on him about his washed up career he probably would have taken the punches and left the stage feeling not so good but he wasn't about to take that from the black guys. why? 50 years ago he was only 7 years old. So I see how he was brought up as a child and how he feels about blacks today. His rant was uncallled for and sure he can apologize but i will never see him the same. Its a shame because he was a funny guy.

Yeah its a free country and we got the freedom of speech but that sh!t was uncalled 4. And 4 you to say what you said @ ASHLEY420 that shows you just as ignorant as he is. His career is over. His face was broke after finding out a couple people in his audience DIDN'T find him funny so he had to show his a$$ so it could make him feel better which didn't make him look good and now that its all over the TV he wants to APOLOGIZE??. I bet he won't do that again....and if he snatch up enough balls to do so I want him to go on DEF COMEDY JAM or Comic View on BET and try that sh!t again. He just might experience the racism he was puttin out on that "Laughs" stage. He should've been banned from the Club he did it in but no he was invited right back the next night. So what does that make the owner of that club look like??

Listen, I'm 100% Italian, and I'm not offended by the Sopranos perpetuating the impression that Italians are stupid, fat, all in the Mafia, or any of the other million stereotypes that people love to watch the Sopranos for. AND, if you watch most black comedians, they use the ****** word freely. AND, the offending people in the audience were being rude and interruptive to their fellow audience members, and to the guest they paid to see. AND, GET OVER IT, is my opinion. The offending people should NEVER have started heckling the comedian to begin with, and the comedian should not have responded. They were both wrong. But the word "******," come on, it's just a word. Any lowlife from any racial or ethic background can be a "******," you don't have to be black.

I think he should be ignored. Not because he's a racist, but because he's a nutjob. Just because he swore at a couple of black guys doesn't mean he's a racist. There aren't any rules in a fight and these guys were messing with someone in the middle of his show. Come to my work and mess with me while I'm just doing my job and I'm gonna get pretty pissed off too. How come it's funny to hear the word cracker but it's racist to use the "n" word? lol. Let it go, he's just another dumb cracker. Instead of looking at him look at the old money crackers in congress. Their the ones using racism to make money. Democrats can't get the vote of immigrants if they don't make the Republicans look racist.

Other people can forgive him if they so choose but I'll never respect or forgive him. It sucks because I used to be such a HUGE fan of his. He was my favorite character on Seinfeld and I was so disappointed when I saw the video of him on stage spouting racial slurs a mile a minute.
I seriously believe that that is the way he has felt all along. When I've gotten mad at someone of a different race (white stepdad, Asian best friend) their race has never even come into the equation. I've insulted their character but I would never degrade their ethnicity. He is a true racist and I'm glad his true colors are now on display. I would hate to unknowingly look up to someone like that.

Seems he's received a worse reputation than Michael Jackson and OJ Simpson...strange inconsistency with the media. He SAID something offensive; he did not DO anything offensive. He did not go burn down a church or murder anyone or molest anyone. I think he should be forgiven (he already apologised) and someone should ask him to explain how he got to where he'd say the things he said. What caused him to have such anger? What happened in his past to make him have such negative feelings? People with such anger need help, not condemnation.

No ,Michael Richardson shouldn't be forgiven because he repeated the words he said too many times. If he had said it only once then yeah, but he said it so many times with so anger and hate.Plus he ruined it for the other cast members on Seinfeld because people will get a bad idea about them.

Maybe we are the ones who are at fault. We put entertainers on a pedestal and then we are amazed when they foul up.
I think if you censor Richardson for his rant, then you have to put race off limits for ALL comedians.
