Who here thinks that Obama could be the first black president of the United States of America?

I personaly don't think that his race will be a problem. If the people like him, then the people will chose him. And rumor has it that lots of people like him.

If he keeps his nose clean, he's got a very good shot at the Presidency. I don't think just yet though, he needs a bit more seasoning. But I do find the man compelling to listen to (his speech regarding religion in America was amazingly deep for a politician) and he gives off this aura that draws people close to him. That's invaluable in a Presidential candidate.

Yes, but the Dems are better off running him as VP first. This answer also presumes that the Dems don't grant the Republican machine's wish by allowing Hillary to win the nomination for president. The more interesting race would be then who the Republicans would run as VP since it would be unlikely they would pull J.C. Watts out from whatever he is doing in Oklahoma. I'd like to see an E. Dole / B. Obama matchup for VP in '08 or some sort of mixed ticket, but that is less likely than Obama getting the nod for the top spot.

Chris, I'd like to be able to say that. I really really would. Unfortunately, I cant. For Obama to win, he'd need to be white. I dont mean to say anything bad about the states Dems dont normally win, but those states just arent going to accept a black person in that office yet. They may never. His race will pull him down at this point, until one of those states turns around.

I get exhilaration from what you say and that i don't blame you. whether his view of us of a of america at the instant are not my perspectives, his coverage isn't my coverage. He plans to supply our money away billions of greenbacks, to a company we already help help. it somewhat is a worldwide youngster's software. We already make contributions tens of millions of greenbacks into this software. And he desires to supply them greater of our money. i don't think of he's conscious that this money he's spending now and needs to spend, having his call and Logan painted on a jet and using helpful gasoline to fly around the international, is our money. not his. i myself think of, no i myself understand, that if he gets elected we are all happening the tube. confident you too. My answer has not something to do with the colour of his dermis. he's 0.5 white isn't he? His mom is white. He pronounced we are no greater a Christian united states, yet Hindu, Jew, Baddest and that i think of there have been a pair greater yet i'm unable to bear in ideas them. Christian blacks won't vote for him. The blacks in our congregation at the instant are not vote casting for him.

Not I. He is a liberal, well spoken, but still a liberal. Liberals do not win national elections. Remember, Democrats must take a state that the Republicans have won. And the South does not vote in liberals.
