It's all banal rhetoric. Democrats will enjoy their first 100-day 'honeymoon' with the American public, then things will settle into just another state of complicity. Nothing will get done. Nothing will change. Republicans and Democrats will fight like little ten-year-old kids until they start doing their real work: raising money for their re-election. -RKO-

They do want to make a change. Give them a chance and get involved. It's not enough these days to simply be suspicious and unhelpful.

The Democrats had been blocked out of meetings in Congress by Republicans who took the biggest offices, and would hide behind doors and not let people in. The whole thing was juvenile and made the Democrats quite unproductive. Shameful.

The Republicans enacted a lot of new laws without full approval of Democrats or even the American public because they would bury laws in tons of paper deliberately. The entire thing was a ruse.

Now the new Congress-- Democrats, Republicans and Liberals need to hear from you. Otherwise, YOU will become all talk, all questions and no answers and you don't want that to happen. Find out who your leaders are and write to them now.

If the Democrats do not create change in the next 2 years then they have no chance t obe re-elected in 2008 or to elect a Democrat President so they have to make profound change. The majority in the congress usually create schange for the better.
May ,I also ad being a former dc intern and having a BA in political science degree that change will not occur unless the public call or e-mail their Senators or congress people.

It's all just for show. They want the vote and will do anything for it. They've got 2 years to build up the public image and if they're successful who knows where this country will go. Highest bidder probably. I'm a registered Democrat and I voted for Kerry. I will vote for Hillary if it'll get Bill back in the white house. Just remember that Democrats are all about big government and you need alot of money to fund what we have now. Who pays for that increase? If the fair tax gets passed then the democrats are playing hardball. If the fair tax gets a bad shake it means they just want to argue about it in the presidential elections. Same with immigration and the war. If they stall out on any of these issues to get brownie points with the voters then you know they're pulling some bologne.

These next 2 years should be interesting... now maybe they will let us know exactly WHAT their plans are and WHAT changes they have been talking about. Only time will tell I suppose, but I give this question a no for part one of the question and a yes for part 2.

The Democrats and the Republicans are all politicians that respond to popular opinion. I know it doesn't always seem that way, but when they don't respond to the majority on major issues you get an election like the last one. If people have strong opinions and let them know, they will move in that direction.

In my opinion just talk. So let's just all pray that they actually do something to make things better for this nation and all of us. I'm a single DAD of two kids and with this economy I can barely make ends meet. So all we can do is just hope and pray for a change.

If a politicians lips are moving, it's called LIP SERVICE! I heard when a politician humms, it's usually when someone is bent over. I really need prayer, politics is one of my conflicting issues. Man can only pretend. Forgive Me when I stumble!

There won't be much occurring, prior to 08. Perhaps some movement on min. wage, perhaps some on immigration, but not much else. Mostly posturing in hearings, etc.
