Over the years, I've given her -- jewelry, housewares, money, and in recent years, started theme-giving. Last year, I wanted to bring her up-to-date with technology, so I gave her a cordless phone, portable DVD player and such. This year, I'm out of ideas -- I make sure to spend quality time with her throughout the year. When she asks for favors, I do them -- I still strive to make her proud ... So, here I am -- racking my brain on what to get her. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

Christmas is usually the time when traditional moms work the most. Maybe it would be a lot of fun to have your Christmas meal catered or prepared by a chef. So the theme would be pampering.
If you were able to go all out you could hire a someone for a massage and/or hair and make up. You could give gifts of gourmet chocolate, fine cosmetics/perfume, and maybe even a new foot spa machine ($30-$50). Insist on her using it with you present and give her fine bubble bath for it. If you guys are close you could provide a wonderous foot massage after the soak and probably bring tears to her eyes.

I'm a mom of a college student and I always ask for Bath and Bodyworks Lotions. They are priced right and I love the the fragrances that they offer. If your an older child with a decent job then I would suggest a spa package. Maybe a pedicure or manicure. A day at the spa after the stressful holiday season is a wonderful gift!

Doesn't she give you a list? Ask her what she wants. If she just continues to say, "nothing" you could go with the pampering theme.
Get her set up at a spa for pedicure/manicure/massage/facial...get it so she can go anytime...also you could get her as stocking stuffers and such, a foot bath massage thing or a steamer thingy or some bubble bath stuffs.

What kind of things does she like to do? Does she like to read, sew, watch movies? I would get a basket and fill it with tea bags, a beautiful mug, a book (poetry or whatever she likes to read) candles, bath beads or bubble bath. It will give her all she'll need for a relaxing evening at home. Does she work? If she does, I'm sure she could use a little R&R. You could also cook for her or take her out to dinner. Maybe you could get her a nice suite somewhere near by your home and let her relax for a day or two by herself with no distractions. I'm sure she'll love whatever you do.
