I answered 2 or 3 yesterday, but I'll answer one more today. Mine was the best I can ever remember.
My brother in law of 35 years has some sort of kidney disease that his mother and most of her family died of. He's been on dialysis and waiting for a kidney for at least 2 years. Last year around Christmas they found him a kidney, however it got lost on a plane somewhere and never made it here.
On this Thanksgiving he was called about 10 am to tell them they had a kidney for him here and the donor was also here on life support. He went in and took all the tests then let him come home for Thanksgiving.
Yesterday, he went back to the hospital, had a 5 hour operation and got his new kidney. At this point everything is going well.
This Thanksgiving gave us so much to be thankful for. I'm sure this will be the best Thanksgiving in my life. It couldn't have been a better time to get his kidney. Anytime would've been great, but Thanksgiving kind of says it all. It will give us something to really remember every Thanksgiving.

The BEST I had in 30 years!
Every year, for 30 years of marriage, my wife and I have to drive 1-1/2 hours to her parents house for their MANDATORY thanksgiving party. When we arrive, the house is full of their friends, most of which we do not know, and none speaking English (all Cuban, my wife is cuban, and I do NOT speak spanish), eating everything cuban-cooked, ie. cooked in olive oil, including the turkey. We BOTH get violently sick when we get back home, every year....
This year, no friends, no relatives. JUST my wife's parents, my wife, I, and our son, my wife's sister, her two kids, her husband, and my wife's brother and his wife and their kid. All the food was a REAL American thanksgiving dinner. NO olive oil anywhere!!
It was absolutely wonderful. I know next year will be back to the way it is every other year. But at least THIS YEAR, it was great!

My boyfriend and I went with my mother and brother to my grandparents condo. It was GREAT, because I hadn't seen them in over a year and my grandmother is so cute and so much fun :) They're condo is AWESOME too. It's really nice, relaxing, and clean. Makes me feel like I've got tons of money just being there. Yeah, I had a great day. Sorry to hear that you had a hectic one! Holidays should be enjoyable, not nutso!

Last year my husband and kids and I went to my parents' house -- so did my brother and his wife and their three kids. On Friday morning, I started feeling sick to my stomach. By noon, I was throwing up . . . and by that night, 6 of the others were all throwing up too. Saturday morning almost all of us had it. My brother, who had not yet succombed to the virus or whatever it was, decided to pack his family up and head back to Kentucky (a seven hour drive), and he ended up getting sick on the way home -- in a van with four other sickies. I was feeling better, but I took my sick family and left because both my parents were sick. It was AWFUL!!!! Hope yours was better.

I spent two days fixing way too much food. We have way too many leftovers -- and I got the stomach flu on Thanksgiving night. (I guess that's one way to keep from gaining weight on Thanksgiving!)

Last year mine was dreadful! My wife made her first feast and her @sshole father came and ruined it like he ruins everything! He smoked pot in our bathroom, he ogled my sister, he yelled and argued with my wife until she shut herself in the bedroom crying, and then he ate our food. We couldn't wait until he left, and he was even worse at XMas! We had train tickets to CT for the holiday and her father again yelled and argued all the way to the train station like the @sshole he is. My wife hid crying in the bathroom and I told him to get lost. We left him there to get his train home while we pressed on to CT without him. Had a great time once he was gone. We're going back this year WITHOUT HIM! Great food and relaxation. Hope you feel better about your holiday! We spent this thanksgiving without him at my sister's.
