My dad has a handspring viser palm pilot (i'm not quite sure he told me it was a handspring viser and it looks like a palm) anyway the screen broke so he is using me moms old palm but i think fixing his old one would be cheaper than me buying a new one (i want a new one) and do you know how i could figure out when and how much it would cost to get repaird? Hope you can!!! Thanks!!!!!!

Get a new one.... I had a Visor too that screen broke.... sent it to be fixed a couple years ago... they replaced it instead for 100.00. They do not repair the old Visors.... so it is best to buy a new Palm. Plus, modern Palms are so much more powerful than the old Visors, currently I have a Palm TX, which although as flaws.... is definitely better than my old Visor. FYI.... Handspring was a company started by the original creators of the Palm but started their own company when Palm was sold to another company.... since then they bought back the company and so handspring was merged back into Palm Inc. The software side however has gone independent of the hardware side.

Thus for support for the Visor.... go to Palm Inc.

even if you buy a cheap screen and digitizer from ebay or some other vendor, it would be smart to buy something else. If you are so attached to it and handy with tools and like to tinker then you can fix it for less then $60. But for $60 you can buy a fairly decent and modern palm on ebay. Take this money and add some more and get yourself a new one. This is the best bet.

I recently thought about repairing my palm too but ended up buying a newer one. If you call Palm by phone you can get a discount code from them by giving them the serial number of your current PDA. The discount code is for 20% and must be used within a week. Once you give them the serial number of your old palm, you can't send it to them to be repaired though.

tell him to save his money and get a new one.

with the way today's technology is going, it's a better buy to buy new when an electronic device goes kaput!
