My husband spilled diesle on his pants then washed them with the rest of his work clothes. I washed them twice, but all the clothes still smell like diesle. He gets dirty at work anyway, but I really don't want the clothes to smell up my whole house. I got the smell out of the washer, but any tips on getting the smell out of the clothes?

Try washing the clothes with a Downy ball in the wash load and using fabreze laundry odor eliminator in the rinse cup of your washer.

It will take a couple of washings for heavy amounts of diesel fuel in clothes, but it did a decent job for my son-in-law's jeans. Of course making the load small will increase the cleaning power of the detergent and softeners. I wash his jeans seperate from all other clothes.

Here's an RV site that people discuss their own personal experiences with cleaning. It might give you some ideas.

use baking soda to absorb the house oder,
fabreeze only covers it up with perfume.

oxy cleane works on oil stains,
also try "simple green".
