The song Hate me by Blue October is a great song, but i dont get the video. At first i thought that he was saying sorry to his girlfriend for being abusive,then i think that he died and he was saying sorry to his mom, then i thought his mom died and he was saying sorry to her cause it was his fault. Please help me out here!

In the beginning of the song, the mom of ead singer leaves a message for him, telling him how much she cares for him. Later on, the lead singer remembers how his mom was always there to support him, and he says "hate me" in the chorus because he wants his mom to hate him, as he didn't do anything for her. At the end of the video, he puts a tape recorder (or something like that, I think) on his mother's gravestone.

I don't like this song, but I thought your first guess was correct. It always sounds like an apology to his gf to me. And many times the video purposely clouds the meaning of the song, like has nothing to do with it.
