It depends on what kind of orchid you have.
If your orchid plant came from a grocery store or home repair store it's probably a moth orchid or phaelanopsis orchid. There are generally 4-10 buds per stem which last 3-5 months before dropping off. This main stem, or "spike" will commonly set another one or more little flower spikes along it before the main spike dies and turns brown. Most phaelanopsis orchids will set flower spikes twice a year if their growing conditions are met.

Other species of orchids will set flower spikes generally once a year. If you cut the stem of orchid flowers, you'll have to wait another year for the plant to set another spike.

Orchids are gradual growers.. you gained't get yet another flower spike until eventually next year or presently once you get a clean sprout. I have seventy 5 and they are regularly mood psychological on getting to bloom back.

No. Orchids generate one blossom and then die.
